Berwick Parks

Parks are important to the health and well-being of local residents. They provide opportunities for physical activity, connecting with nature, and gathering with friends. While investment in the borough’s park system has always been important, the magnitude of that importance was emphasized during the COVID-19 pandemic when use of those parks increased to unprecedented levels. While that level of use hasn’t totally held at its pandemic-era level, use is still higher than it was prior to 2020 as many people have discovered the many great things the Berwick park system has to offer. 

 

Building and maintaining a dynamic park system requires research and planning to meet the needs of the community it aims to serve. Through this project, we will create a park plan for Berwick, with an emphasis on accessibility and integration of the arts. Borough leaders have ideas about park improvements will engage the community to learn new ways to improve parks, especially if those ideas are outside the scope of what has traditionally been done.
